An architectural concept [2019].
Expanding our bubble of perception through explanation and exploration. The project poses a theoretical framework that aims to explore the concept of gaining knowledge and the role perception plays during this action. There is a gradient between simplification and complexification in which both ends appear to be of importance when understanding the complex environment we (humans) live in. Exempli gratia: A theory of everything (Hawking S., et al.) as the search for a simplification of our universe, and complexity theory insinuating the need for Charles Darwin’s adaptability as a key to survival. In order to use the posed theory on Expanding Our Bubble of Perception within our actual physical world, an architectural translation is given. This translation contains two main spaces: cylindrical spaces in which datasets allow for explanation, and the spaces that flow around those cylinders which allow for exploration through and adaptation of the Wunderkammer.
